A little program to grow big things in Northern Kentucky

BRINK is a selective 90-day program that helps exceptional people in Northern Kentucky see if their high-growth business idea has legs.

BRINK is not a startup accelerator.

We strip away everything from the accelerator model except for three essential things:

  • A vector for a startup (you)
  • A little bit of cash (us)
  • A 90-day sprint (together)

Founders

BRINK funds high-caliber, high-agency people in Northern Kentucky who are hellbent on building something useful.

This is not for founders who are already flourishing. This is plant food for when the very first leaves are sprouting.

BRINK might be for you if you:

  • Just shoved off with a new technology startup
  • Are a hungry engineer or designer who’s ready to build something for themselves
  • Operate in a big co and have an idea from your experience that just won’t go away
  • Are a talented CS student ready to seriously chase something

Funding

BRINK invests $25,000 into each company using an uncapped post-money SAFE with a Most Favored Nation (“MFN”) provision.

That just means it’s an angel check whose terms will be set by your next fundraising round.

Process

You’ll create a list of milestones to achieve over the 90 days and a quick budget for how the funding will help you get there.

We’ll pair you with a local advisor to be your sounding board. All advisors are local startup founders or operators.

You’ll get to work building product, learning from customers, and creating momentum. It’s an intense three months.

You’ll meet with your advisor regularly (usually weekly or biweekly) to review progress and get help.

And at the end of the 90 days, our goal is for your new company to be in a remarkably improved state than when you started.

That typically manifests in three ways:

  • Product development
    A built and launched product
  • Market validation
    Revenue and/or users growing week-over-week
  • Fundraising viability
Having (more) options for raising additional capital

Requirements

Here’s what you need to be considered:

  • Ardor, a big idea, and full-time commitment
  • Ambitious goals for the next 90 days
  • A Kentucky-based company (we can help there)

Purpose

BRINK is the result of a few local startup founders and leaders realizing there just aren’t enough angel investors in the region.

Early angel checks are fundamental to technology startups and other high-growth businesses.

So BRINK takes a bit of public funds from the Commonwealth of Kentucky and deploys them like an angel investor would.

Sometimes, starting out, what founders need is a little cash, some accountability, and a lot of support.

That’s why we’re here.
